Backhausdance returns to the Barclay with a program featuring four rich and diverse pieces including a reimagining of an audience favorite, Love and Other Possibilities(2006), choreographed by Jennifer Backhaus, founder and artistic director of Backhausdance.

Backhausdance returns to Los Angeles Dance Project for an up close and personal look into four rich and diverse pieces created by Backhausdance Artistic Directors and renowned Guest Artists and a Mix & Mingle with the Backhausdance Artists & Dance Community.

Experience an immersive performance of a new, original dance work with a site-specific piece created especially for the Orange County Museum of Art choreographed by Jennifer Backhaus in collaboration with the dancers. Designed to utilize the museum's architecture, experience this one-of-a-kind performance inspired by outdoor sculpture Kundalini Rising, 2023, a highlight from exhibition Jennifer Guidi: And so it is.
Our amazing community arts partner, the Orange County Museum of Art (OCMA), is about to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the opening of their new building! As part of their many events we are jumping for joy with the opportunity to develop a new work to be performed outdoors! Please join us and spread the word for this free event for everyone! Our 19th annual Backhausdance Summer Intensive provides high-caliber training programs for aspiring and experienced artists ages 12 to professional. Held in the state-of-the-art dance facilities on the campus of Chapman University, the intensive supports the technical growth and artistic development of the contemporary dancer.

Backhausdance, Southern California’s critically-acclaimed contemporary dance company, is seeking dancers of all identities for its 2023-2024 season. Strong modern technique with a solid ballet background is required. Audition will be in-person, Saturday May 13th 1-4pm at Sandi Simon Center for Dance (350 N Cypress St. Orange, CA 92866) with possible call backs.
Save the date! Backhausdance will be in residence in the garden in Spring 2023 with evening performances on the weekend of April 29 & 30. With public residencies on Thursdays, everyone is invited to watch the Garden Flow Creation Process and engage with the dancers! (Public residencies on March 30, April 6, 13, 20 & 27, 10:30am-1pm)

We have the distinction of launching the Temecula dance season on Saturday, November 19, 2022 with a not-to-be-missed special evening - a dynamic program complete with world premieres by guest choreographers Ching Ching Wong and Tommie-Waheed Evans, a revision of artistic director Jennifer Backhaus’ piece One Continuous Line, and a new piece choreographed by associate artistic director Amanda Kay White.
