OSCAR GONZALEZ 

Oscar Gonzalez is a dance educator, choreographer, and director with extensive experience in both higher education and K–12 settings. He currently serves as a Professor of Dance at Santa Ana College, where he teaches Commercial Dance and Musical Theatre courses. Oscar is dedicated to creating inclusive, student-centered learning environments that support first-generation, multilingual, and culturally diverse student populations. His teaching integrates technical training in ballet, jazz, contemporary, and commercial dance with performance, choreography, and professional development, preparing students for transfer pathways, careers, and lifelong engagement in the arts.

In addition to his work in higher education, Oscar has led a highly successful high school dance program as Dance Director, where he developed a comprehensive, multi-level curriculum serving over 175 students annually. His program emphasizes technique, choreography, cultural studies, and performance, with many students continuing on to university dance programs. Oscar has also presented at state and national conferences, taught masterclasses across the country and internationally, and developed curriculum rooted in equity, access, and culturally responsive pedagogy. He holds a Master of Education, teaching credentials in Physical Education and Career Technical Education, and continues to contribute to the dance community through production, outreach, and mentorship.
