Backhausdance, Orange County’s leading contemporary dance company, presents Moving Santa Ana, a new, free creative dance education program designed to engage children ranging in ages 3-12 in active learning and youth development to be held April - December 2021. Through a series of free classes focusing on the basics of ballet technique while building creative abilities, students will be inspired and have fun as they experience the joy and beauty of dance. Now is the time to get your child up and moving so they can discover and explore the ways they can use their bodies and imaginations while gaining coordination and self-confidence. Classes will help your child express their emotions in an energetic and positive way through dance and movement, develop new skills, and make new friends. Performances will be held in June and December for families and friends; locations to be announced.
Classes will be offered live at outdoor or indoor locations at a few different Santa Ana park sites following strict health and safety guidelines.
Classes are held 2 times/week on Wednesday afternoons/early evenings and Saturday mornings. open to Santa Ana youth and are accessible to all; no prior dance experience is needed. Classes will be offered in English and Spanish as needed. Classes are grouped by age category: 3-5; 6-8; 9-12.
