Tobi Becerra received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance & Theatre from Chapman University in Orange, CA, where she graduated cum laude, received awards for choreography and the Fannie Kalis Award, given to a graduating senior for outstanding contributions in dance. In addition, she trained at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center in New York. Prior to coming to Backausdance, Tobi worked at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in the education and community programs department, managing a variety of programs including ArtsConnect, an arts integration program led by Mitchell Korn, the world’s leading innovator in arts education. Tobi is an experienced registered yoga teacher (E-RYT) with Yoga Alliance. She currently sits on the board of directors for Cloud Nine Yoga and is the Co-Director of the yoga teacher training program at Cloud Nine Yoga in Huntington Beach. Her son, Kahlo, is adorable. His occupation is watching Backhausdancers get their groove on.
