2021 HYBRID SUMMER DANCE SCHOLARSHIP AUDITIONS

The Backhausdance Summer Dance Intensive provides high-caliber training programs for aspiring artists and working professionals ages 13 to professional. A limited number of in-person registration slots will be open for dancers to train at our Chapman University campus, as well as virtual learning options allowing you to dance from your home or from your home studio.

Backhausdance awards a limited number of talent scholarships to its summer intensive. To be considered, you must attend a virtual scholarship audition or submit a video audition.

HIGH CALIBER TRAINING

Train with Artistic Director Jennifer Backhaus, company members, and esteemed educators and choreographers from around the world. Curriculum will emphasize technical growth, artistic development, and creative exploration.

PERSONAL ATTENTION + MENTORSHIP

Both in-person and virtual class sizes will be limited, enabling instructors to provide personal attention and feedback. Connect with instructors, company members and other dancers via one-on-one and small group mentorship and discussions.

PROGRAMS FOR AGES 13 TO PROFESSIONAL

Each program will culminate in the creation of a screen dance which will be premiered at a Virtual Watch Party. Celebrate growth and collaboration together (friends and family are invited, too) as we watch intensive highlights and screen dance projects produced during creative process classes.
