ABOUT Backhausdance offers an annual summer intensive housed at Chapman University in Orange, California. The intensive is a 2 week program designed for pre-professional and collegiate level dancers who want to challenge themselves technically and grow as artists. Daily classes include Modern Technique, Ballet Technique, Dance Conditioning, Improvisation, Contemporary Jazz, Partnering, Somatics and Yoga for Dance. The intensive culminates with the Deconstructed concert which is open to the public. Backhausdance discusses the creation of one of their repertory works and the summer intensive students perform new, original dances created for them by Jennifer Backhaus and Backhausdance company members.

TUITION $750 for two weeks, $450 for one week (Two week attendance strongly encouraged. Students participating in only one week will not perform in Deconstructed)
Attendees must be at least 16 years old and at an intermediate to advanced level of dance with a strong background in ballet and contemporary.
All classes will be taught by Jennifer Backhaus, Backhausdancers and alumni. Special guest faculty and complete schedule to be announced soon!
