JEREMY HUNT is a life-long resident of Orange County, Ca. and holds a B.A. in Film Production from the California State University of Long Beach. In addition to his role as Executive Director of Backhausdance, Jeremy is the owner and lead artist of the lauded and successful Screaming Death Monkey vfx studio which provides cutting-edge computer generated visual effects to the motion picture and television industries. His credits span 12 years and include numerous films and tv shows such Star Trek, X-Files, Pushing Daisies along with the recent films 300, Street Kings, and The Tourist to name a few. Jeremy has been given numerous accolades for his work including two prime-time Emmy nominations for Outstanding Visual Effects. Jeremy’s passion for film includes award-winning direction of music videos, commercials and short films, including the internet defining short film 405 which Yahoo named as one of the most important events in the history of the internet.

For the past four years, Jeremy has collaborated with Backhausdance, providing visual art elements for performances as well as designing and unifying the visual marketing and print work. It was through this collaboration that Jeremy came to recognize concert dance and Ms. Backhaus’ work specifically as engaging and deeply inspiring to the creation of his own work as well as to his process as an artist. Jeremy’s talent as a visual artist coupled with a decade of business ownership make him a perfect fit as the Executive Director for the fast growing Backhausdance. Jeremy is inspired by dance as an art form and is committed to expanding upon Backhausdance’s amazing accomplishments as a premier contemporary dance company in Southern California.
