Backhausdance, Orange County’s award-winning contemporary dance company, invites you to join us for Garden Flow: Dancing with Nature - accessible, fun, and interactive workshops for all ages and abilities on August 9, 11 and 14, 2026. Held at the enchanting horticultural oasis of Sherman Library & Gardens in Corona del Mar, these joyful sessions are presented as part of the Inaugural Newport Beach Art Week,
Led by Backhausdance professional dancers, each 90-minute workshop offers an exciting opportunity to explore the expressive flow of contemporary dance and creative movement inspired by the energy and rhythms of the colorful flowers, the succulent garden and the many pollinators that weave throughout the landscape. Together, we'll choreograph and share a unique Dance of the Birds, Dance of the Butterflies, or Dance of the Bees, celebrating the magic and well-being of dancing in nature and as a group.
Everyone is welcome to Move. Create and Connect! Perfect for children and families, friends, youth and teens, adults, grandparents, seniors, caregivers and veterans. No dance experience is necessary, and participants may dance seated or standing.
Workshops are held outdoors. Please wear comfortable clothes and bring water. Each session is standalone—attend one, two, or all three! We are looking forward to your involvement!

Fee:: Included with garden admission $12 for adults, $5 for children (4-17) and free for children under 4 years old. Free to Sherman members.
