EVAN SWENSON

FRESNO, California

Evan Swenson, a native of California, began his dance training at the age of seven. At the age of 12 he started attending summer programs, and at 17 was invited, on full scholarship, to the Houston Ballet Academy to study year round and complete his professional training. Evan has danced with Houston Ballet, Atlanta Ballet and New York Theatre Ballet, in addition to appearing as a guest artist around the country. He has danced principal and soloist roles in Cinderella, Esmerelda Pas de Deux, Madame Butterfly, Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, Paquita Pas de Deux, Theme and Variations, and many more. He has worked with Marie de la Palme, Trey McIntyre, Ben Stevenson, Stanton Welch and Lila York, to name a few. In 2009, Evan moved back to Los Angeles where he currently works with several different companies including Clairobscur, Helios Dance Theater, Luminario Ballet and Motion/Tribe. In 2011 and 2013, he instructed and toured with Long Beach Ballet and their Ambassadors to China program. For three seasons, Evan has been a model on the SyFy show Face-Off, and was featured as ‘Dillion’ in Barbie in the Pink Shoes. This is his first season with Backhausdance.
