Faculty Announcement 2018 - Jennifer Backhaus.jpg

WELCOME FROM BD DIRECTOR JENNIFER BACKHAUS

We are thrilled that you will be joining us for our 14th Annual Backhausdance Summer Intensives. Below you will find detailed information regarding our intensive faculty, classes, suggested attire, evening activities and helpful tips to make the most of your time with us.

Since its inception in 2003, Backhausdance has performed extensively coast-to-coast as one of Southern California’s premier contemporary modern dance companies. Currently wrapping up its 15th Anniversary Season, the company continually strives to educate the community about the relevance and vitality of concert dance. We are excited to spend a few weeks with you as we continue to push the boundaries on technical growth and artistic development.

We are excited to share that all dancers participating in Week 3 (July 30 - August 3) will have the opportunity to share the stage with the professional company in a fully produced performance of BD Education Presents: Hive at the Musco Center for the Arts. Save the date for Saturday, August 4. It will be an extraordinary event as a cast of more than 100 takes the stage in this 1,100-seat, state of-the-art venue. Priority Ticket Sales for intensive participants' friends and family begin soon!

In the meantime, make sure you are signed up for our mailing list. Check out and register online for some fun evening activities. Scroll down to view our 2018 schedule. You will also receive an invitation from Sched to create your profile and connect with other participants in our event app. We have some exciting events happening as we lead up to another incredible intensive with you. We can’t wait to dance with you!
