Andy Lawson, a Southern California native, holds a BFA in Dance from Chapman University in Orange, CA. While at Chapman, he studied with Jennifer Backhaus, Sean Greene, Holly Johnston, Liz Maxwell, Dale Merrill and Laurence Rosenberg. His training also includes studies through summer programs at American Ballet Theatre, Backhausdance, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and San Francisco Ballet. Andy performed with Gallimaufry Performing Arts under the direction of Steve Josephson as part of the 2010 Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland, and has been a guest artist with Anaheim Ballet, BARE Dance Company, Dmitri Kulev Classical Ballet Academy and Maple Conservatory, working with distinguished artists Mike Esperanza, Sean Greene and Mark Haim, among others. Most recently, he was a company member of Hubbard Street 2 (HS2). This is Andy's first season with Backhausdance.
